WHY? ¿POR QUÉ?

WHY?

We think important to represent the suicide as a free decision, but integrally related to the existential disappointment. A theme unfortunately current, that has some level as: the culture of immediacy, women fetish, the systematic murder-suicide of women and of course, the heartbreak of emigration. We refer to an infected system of intolerance and their own cultures where a work represent well our past: Duel with cudgels, by Goya. Impressive picture where we can make connections to current events, where human evolution is more philosophical that technological and just change the "tools" to repress or domesticate our adversary.

We don´t try in any case the construction of a creative work aggressive, but yeah thoughtful. We are obliged to dismiss the beauty used by the Pre-Raphaelites, and that their codes were configured in a way that the canon of beauty "pure" and occidental that still permeates our post-modernity. We think that this idealization of beauty female and nature, beyond our present reality, the same of nineteenth century. We believe that the disenfranchised are or are those who seek and configure the beauty of life, although we know that basically everything tasted death. Necessary to show the other side of our reality that the Pre-Raphaelites poetic development in a great and admirable, but now we need to show the plurality transgressing and suffering of all. We approach this throbbing pain and show no conceptual or aesthetic trivialized.

¿POR QUÉ?

Creemos importante representar el suicidio como decisión libre, pero íntegramente relacionada con el desencanto existencial. Un tema por desgracia actual, que abarca varios niveles como: la cultura de la inmediatez, la mujer fetiche, el asesinato y suicidio sistemático de las mujeres y como no; el desengaño de la emigración. Nos referimos a un sistema infectado de intolerancias y culturas propias donde una obra representaría bien nuestro pasado: Duelo a garrotazos de Goya. Obra impactante donde podemos realizar conexiones con acontecimientos actuales, donde la evolución humana es más tecnológica que filosófica y tan solo cambian las "herramientas" para reprimir o domesticar a nuestro adversario.

No tratamos en ningún caso la construcción de una obra agresiva, pero si reflexiva. Nos vemos con la obligación de descartar la belleza utilizada por los Prerafaelitas, ya que sus códigos fueron los que de alguna forma configuraron el canon de belleza "pura" y occidental que impregna todavía nuestra post-modernidad. Pensamos que esa idealización de la belleza de la mujer y de la naturaleza, se escapa de nuestra actual realidad, al igual que en el siglo XIX. Pensamos que los desheredados son o somos los que buscamos y configuramos la belleza por la vida, aunque sabemos que en el fondo todo sabe a muerte. Necesario mostrar la otra cara de nuestra realidad que la poética Prerafaelita desarrollo de un modo fantástico y admirable, pero que hoy creemos necesario transgredir para mostrar la pluralidad y el sufrimiento de todos y todas. Acercarnos a ese dolor palpitante y mostrarlo sin banalizaciones conceptuales ni estéticas.
